Home Ec.
Home Ec. consists of 15 large color prints representing my 20-year investigation into the constantly changing political arena surrounding the domestic sphere. The idea of ’Home Ec.’ is part of an antiquated academic curriculum that’s become a piece of cultural anthropology. Through the use of hand-made camera lenses and images, I continue to play with the distortion of documentary. These re-photographed skewed prints and sculptural installations illustrate the mundane, yet challenging and rigorous aspects of my domestication and relationship. This exhibition is evidence and documentation of the way we have used our home to record our existence.
